Pregna Siwakoti

Pregna Siwakoti is a political researcher and writer whose work examines how states govern incarceration beyond prison walls, with a particular focus on community supervision. Her research explores how parole, probation, probationary housing, and monitoring programs are shaped by political priorities across different national and institutional contexts. She is particularly interested in how these mechanisms are alternately framed as tools of rehabilitation or as instruments of political negotiation, public pressure, and diplomatic bargaining. Her work focuses on the implications of community supervision and release for public safety, reintegration, and the protection of legal rights when criminal justice systems intersect with political objectives. Although this is her first experience with a campaign of this nature, she is eager to learn, contribute and give back to her community.
