Srijana Sapkota

Youth Coordinator

Srijana Sapkota (she/her) is a rising Senior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), studying Global Studies and Political Science with a concentration in Governance, Conflict and Resolution (GCR) and a keen interest in international relations and diplomacy. With a multicultural history, as a Bhutanese-Nepali, a former refugee, and a first-generation immigrant to the US, Srijana’s professional interest primarily lies within the field of advocacy and human rights. Srijana has adept experience in research, policy writing, nonprofit management and leadership, with skills strengthened via past experiences such as the Policy & Research internship at the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), among individually-led research projects. At GCRPPB, Srijana has worked as a Youth Coordinator since 2022, leading several projects advocating for the release of political prisoners in Bhutan alongside a dedicated team.
